Forget the blow outs and sewn-in extensions. Sleek and sporty ponytails seem to be the big hair trend on the 2012 Golden Globes red carpet.
Amanda Peet has her shoulder-length brown hair simply pulled back as not to compete with her tiered cream gown. Sarah Michelle Gellar, in a strapless ink blot print Monique Lhuillier gown is also wearing her hair in the sporty style, which is probably a smart choice as there’s so much going on with the print on her dress.
Nicole Richie, in silvery Julien Macdonald, has the most stylish ponytail, which is a sort of a ‘60s-esque, teased and pulled up up-do complemented by heavy bangs.
Julianna Margulies in Naeem Khan and Rooney Mara in Nina Ricci have their dark tresses slicked back in a ponytail for a no-fuss look with just the right amount of drama.
