Man arrested after police pursuit in allegedly stolen car

A man was arrested early Monday after allegedly leading Inglewood police on a wild chase in a stolen vehicle for about two hours.

It started around 11 p.m. Sunday when LAPD officers pursued the stolen car until they deployed spike strips just after 1 a.m. Monday.

The suspect displayed gang signs and weaved dangerously in and out of traffic during the two-hour pursuit, police said.

KTLA-TV spoke to one commuter who was nearly hit by the suspect.

“I had clocked out for work and he comes right by me and almost T-boned me,” Luke Malbry recalled. “There’s a lot of people out here at one o’clock in the morning. I see a lot of kids right now outside, so I’m glad he didn’t hit anybody.”

Once his left tire blew out, the suspect surrendered and was arrested. Police said he had a number of weapons in the car.
