Who says there are too many singing shows?
NBC’s ‘The Voice’ returned for Season 2 with huge numbers after Sunday’s Super Bowl, with a one-hour premiere that averaged 37.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen. Among viewers age 18 to 49, ‘The Voice’ warbled to a 16.3 rating -- the highest since ABC’s ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ drew a 16.5 after the Super Bowl in 2006.
Last year by comparison, with the Super Bowl on Fox, a special episode of ‘Glee’ drew 26.8 million viewers.
NBC has done better in the past, however. The post-Super Bowl airing of ‘Friends’ in 1996 averaged an amazing 52.9 million.
