Empire League dominates Southern Division

It was a good night for the Empire League.

Yeah, really good.

Garden Grove Pacifica upset top-seeded Western, 14-12; La Palma Kennedy beat fourth-seeded Irvine University, 21-0, and third-seeded Placentia Valencia beat Irvine, 38-14.

Saturday, Cypress will try to give the league all four semifinal positions in the Southern Division when it plays host to Anaheim.

I think Anaheim still has the edge because of its running game, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Cypress wins.
