The Anderson Bat National Classic, set for March 24-27 in Orange County, is filled with quality teams.
Orange Lutheran, with three pitchers who signed with NCAA Division I schools, looks particularly strong, along with Crespi, which returns eight starters.
Three of Collegiate Baseball magazine’s top 10 teams are entered, including No. 2 St. John’s College Prep of Washington D.C. Orange Lutheran is ranked No. 8, followed at No. 9 by Calvert Hall of Maryland, which finished 33-0 last season.
Other Southern California teams entered include co-hosts Placentia El Dorado and Anaheim Esperanza, Vista Murrieta, Yucaipa and Bishop Amat.
