Baseball: Norco’s Hobgood is the best

Sometimes statistics can be misleading, because the competition might not be too good. But trust the statistics being compiled by Matt Hobgood of Norco. He’s the real deal.

All Hobgood has done this season is go 6-0 on the mound with an 0.19 earned-run average. He has 52 strikeouts in 36 innings and only 11 walks. At the plate, he’s batting .519 with nine home runs and 28 runs batted in.

He’s 6-foot-4, weighs 250 pounds and can run. If anyone deserves to be a first-round draft choice in June, it’s Hobgood.
