Aaron Hale returned a punt 35 yards for a first-quarter touchdown and Upland seized a 13-0 halftime lead over host Chino Hills Friday night in a Southern Section Central Division semifinal.

Upland’s Anthony King tacked on a 12-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter and the Highlanders produced stingy run defense in their attempt to play in a second consecutive CIF title game.
