Woodland Hills Taft, already considered the favorite to win the City Section Division I basketball championship, has picked up 6-foot-5 C.J. Blackwell from Peachtree Ridge High in Georgia.
Blackwell’s coach in Georgia, Keith Arrington, said Blackwell showed up for the first day of school on Aug. 9, then told him he was moving to Los Angeles with his father and younger sister. Blackwell played on three different travel teams this summer.
He averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds for Peachtree Ridge and will be a senior.
‘He’s very good,’ Arrington said. ‘He can score anywhere you want him. He’s a great rebounder.’
