There’s a reason teams want to host championship games on their home turf. There are advantages, such as Lancaster Paraclete (11-2) getting to play Chatsworth Sierra Canyon (13-0) on Saturday night at Antelope Valley College in the East Valley Division championship game.
Paraclete is used to playing in cold temperatures and Sierra Canyon isn’t. The temperature could be in the mid-30s, and we’ll get to learn if Sierra Canyon quarterback Tyler Stewart might be able to play on the East Coast.
‘We’ll find out soon enough,’ Sierra Canyon Coach Jon Ellinghouse said of the weather challenges.
Asked if his team would be bringing heaters for the sideline, Ellinghouse said, ‘No. We’re going to roll.’
