Rent Control Suit Filed

In the first legal challenge to West Hollywood’s temporary rent control law, a disgruntled landlord has filed suit, asking the Los Angeles Superior Court to exempt her 15-unit apartment building from the city’s freeze on rents.
In the complaint filed this week, Letizia Gelles said she is losing $1,600 a month because rents in her apartment building on Holloway Drive have been rolled back to last August’s levels, as the law requires.
