Marlborough Heir Convicted of Burglary

LONDON — The Marquess of Blandford, heir to a $64-million fortune, was convicted of burglary today and fined $1,270 after admitting he broke into a pharmacy in search of heroin.
“The highest in the land can fall to the lowest when drugs are taken,” declared Magistrate Eric Crowther as he fined the 29-year-old son of the Duke of Marlborough, also a great nephew of Winston Churchill.
