Ind. Special Election Bid Denied

WASHINGTON — A House task force today rejected a Republican attempt to call a special election in Indiana and, on a 2-1 vote, recommended seating Democrat Frank McCloskey--victor of a recount by four votes--in the lone outstanding House race.
The task force report now goes to the House Administration Committee. GOP leaders warned that they want a lengthy discussion of the recount, which denied victory to Republican Rick McIntyre, and said “we will not participate” if treated unfairly.
