SAN SALVADOR — Six national police agents were killed and 13 injured when a bomb exploded accidentally during a training session on handling explosives, the army press office said.
The agents were receiving training on how to dismantle bombs left by leftist rebels when the accident occurred last week, according to the statement, which said an instructor was among the killed.
It said the accident took place at a lava bed known as El Playon, about 15 miles south of San Salvador.
