Retired Army Col. William Lambert, who served in World War II and Korea, was among the senior citizens in the Sierra Nevada foothills who have received notice that they should register for military service. So is 98-year-old William Brooks and 100-year-old Adam Dindinger, who died last week. Joan Lamb, assistant director of Selective Service in Washington, said the problem may be in voter registration rolls or a computer programming glitch.
