The former interim noise abatement manager at Long Beach Airport was arrested on charges of disrupting the operation of the noise abatement computer. George Pappas, 33, was released on $1,000 bail after his arrest by Long Beach police on a warrant charging him with malicious access and disruption of a computer system and intentional unauthorized access of a computer system. Deputy Dist. Atty. Lawrence E. Mason said Pappas’ term as interim manager ended Feb. 8 when a permanent manager was appointed. But during his last days on the job, Mason said, Pappas made certain program alterations in the computer that left it inoperable a few weeks later.
