150,000 Troops to Start Air Command Exercise

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. — About 150,000 military personnel will begin the Strategic Air Command’s Global Shield 85 exercise today to test combat readiness, a command spokesman said Tuesday.
The seventh annual exercise, which will continue through June 21, is designed to provide air crews with realistic flight training missions. It also will provide training for missile crews and support personnel, the spokesman said.
