Los Angeles police arrested 26 people on Blythe Street in Van Nuys Saturday night on charges of sale and possession of heroin, cocaine, marijuana and hashish, Sgt. Alfonso Rodriguez said. About 30 officers made the arrests between 7:30 and 10 p.m. between Van Nuys Boulevard and Willis Avenue, he said. No injuries or altercations were reported, and the quantities of drugs seized were said to be small or moderate. Rodriguez said the raid was prompted by neighborhood complaints about drug dealing. Most of the arrests were made by officers in uniform, although some arrests were made by undercover officers purchasing drugs, he said.
