Daewoo Telecom began shipping a new 16-bit PC.

The first shipment of the Korean-made computer has already arrived in the United States, company officials said. The new computer, which is IBM-compatible, will be marketed here by Leading Edge Products at $1,495, about half that of an equivalent IBM personal computer, the officials said. Leading Edge also plans to market the machine in Canada, Latin America, Europe and Australia, Daewoo officials said.
