Reagan’s Health Good, His Doctors Say After Checkup

WASHINGTON — Doctors at Bethesda Naval Medical Center gave President Reagan another clean bill of health Friday after the President underwent his second checkup since having major cancer surgery last summer.
A brief written statement released by the White House said: “The results of all tests were normal.”
Two feet of Reagan’s lower intestine were removed on July 13 after doctors discovered a cancerous tumor in his colon. The White House described the follow-up examination as routine and said it included an external abdominal examination, X-rays and blood and stool tests.
Reagan stopped at the medical center on his way to Camp David, Md., the presidential retreat, for the weekend.
