Girl, 17, Dies in Suicide Bombing

BEIRUT — A 17-year-old Syrian girl detonated a car stuffed with explosives today in a suicide attack on Israeli-backed militiamen, the 14th suicide bombing in Southern Lebanon since June, Lebanese and Israeli sources said today.
The pro-Syrian Baath Party said the blast from 650 pounds of TNT near the Christian town of Jezzine destroyed several cars belonging to Israeli intelligence agents. Israel radio said the blast killed only the driver and wounded one Southern Lebanon Army militiaman.
