Rep. Grotberg Emerges From Six-Week Coma

WASHINGTON — Illinois Rep. John E. Grotberg, who lapsed into unconsciousness six weeks ago after suffering complications from an experimental cancer treatment, has emerged from the coma and is recuperating, doctors said Tuesday.
The 60-year-old Republican congressman was listed in “serious but stable” condition, an improvement over the “critical but stable” assessment doctors had posted for more than five weeks.
