Turnbull’s Comeback Lifts Chapman Men

Troy Turnbull, the No. 1-ranked player in Division II men’s tennis, battled back to defeat Cal State Bakersfield’s Rick Hagenbach, 2-6, 7-6, 6-3, and lead Chapman College to a 7-2 win at Chapman Friday afternoon.
Hagenbach, seeded No. 43 in Division II, served for the win at 6-5 in the second set, but Turnbull broke serve and eventually won the set in a tie-breaker before winning the match at 6-3 in the third set. Chapman is 12-4 overall and 6-0 in the California Collegiate Athletic Assn. Bakersfield is 8-2 and 4-1.
