Two former Hughes Aircraft Co. engineers were charged Tuesday in Los Angeles federal court with making fradulent claims of more than $113,000 in at least 15 different defense contracts.
U.S. Atty. Robert C. Bonner said Joseph D. Montross, 56, of Port Hueneme, and Michael Guiliano, 38, of Redondo Beach, submitted fictitious vouchers and receipts for alleged expenses which were subsequently passed on to the Defense Department by Hughes without knowlege that the vouchers and receipts were not legitimate.
Assistant U.S. Atty. James R. Asperger, prosecuting the case, said the activity was first discovered by Hughes officials, who reported the alleged fraud to the FBI.
