College Softball : Goodin Leads Fullerton to 5-1 Victory

Robin Goodin hit a three-run double in the second inning that helped Cal State Fullerton to a 5-1 win over Oregon State in the first-round of the PONY Invitational Softball Tournament at Fullerton.
Goodin later scored on and infield out by Rina Foster.
The Titans (21-3) got a strong pitching performance from Susan LeFebvre (9-2), who allowed one hit and struck out eight.
In other PONY Invitational games:
Cal Poly Pomona 4, Fresno State 0--After 10 scoreless innings, the Broncos (10-3) got four runs in the top of the 11th to get the win. Pomona catcher Denise Correa hit a three-run double. Bronco pitcher Rhonda Wheatley struck out 16. Fresno is 13-6.
In South Coast Conference community college action:
Cypress 5, Saddleback 1--Shortstop Karen Zupan went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI, to lead the Chargers to the win at Saddleback. Cypress (1-2, 15-6) got seven hits. Karen Nakamaru pitched a complete game, striking out four and alowing five hits. Saddleback is 2-1 in conference.
In nonconference community college action:
Rancho Santiago 8, Riverside 0--Second baseman Lee Bladow went 3 for 4 with three RBIs to lead the Dons (14-2) to the win at Riverside. Blado, a freshman from Westminster High, has hit in nine straight games tying a school record set by Deanna Long in 1983.
