Gov. George Deukmejian has appointed two county residents to four-year terms on the board of directors of the Orange County Fairgrounds.
Bob Clark of San Juan Capistrano and Tom W. Thomson of Corona del Mar will serve on the nine-member board that sets policy for, and oversees operation of, the 160-acre fairgrounds and exposition center in Costa Mesa.
They replace Linda Oeth of Newport Beach and Mel Feldman of Corona del Mar, who completed their terms.
“I look forward to giving something back to the community,” said Thomson, an office-building and investment broker for Coldwell Banker real estate in Santa Ana.
Clark, vice president of agriculture operations for the Santa Margarita Development Co., manages 40,000 acres of south county farmland in Rancho Mission Viejo. He also serves as a director of the Winegrowers of California.
“The fair is an important annual community service project,” Clark said. “It will be nice to offer something to the community.”
