Fewer London Bobbies Will Carry Firearms

LONDON — Only about 14% of the police officers in Greater London carry guns, but the percentage of armed bobbies will drop in the next few months.
Scotland Yard said this week it is cutting the pool of officers authorized to carry firearms by about 750. That means that of the 27,000 officers on the force, just 2,970 will be permitted to carry guns.
