First American Financial Corp., the Santa Ana-based parent of First American Title Insurance Co., Wednesday was ordered by a Houston jury to pay $5.6 million in damages to a Texas computer software firm, according to a Dow Jones news service report. The award stems from First American’s alleged misuse of software manufactured by the T.P.W. Co. of Houston. First American officials could not be reached for comment.
