Garden Grove : Police Shoot Man Fleeing in Truck

Police shot a man in the thigh after he reportedly tried to run over two officers with a pickup truck.
Police said the incident happened at 9 p.m. Friday in the 12600 block of Keel Avenue in the Buena Clinton area. They said two uniformed officers were trying to arrest two men in the pickup truck on suspicion of narcotics dealings.
The truck driver drove away and then tried to hit the two officers, police said. Two shots were fired at the truck. One struck the driver in the right thigh, police said.
Other officers stopped the truck shortly afterward about a mile and a half away and arrested the two men in it.
The wounded suspect was treated at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange. He was identified as Michael R. Priebe, 26, of Orange. Police said he was booked on suspicion of attempted assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon. The other man, identified as Craig Charles Benavidez 25, Santa Ana, was arrested on suspicion of trying to buy narcotics.
