Times Selects Season’s Best Players, Coaches

Senior center Kevin Holland of Cerritos was named boys Player of the Year at a Times’ awards brunch last Saturday. Holland, who averaged 18.6 rebounds a game, was the Southeast area’s top player.
The girl Player of the Year in the Southeast was Julie King, a senior guard from Gahr who was a three-time member of the Southern Section 4-A first team.
Thomas Pryor of Gahr won girls Coach-of-the-Year honors in the Southeast. He led his team to a 26-5 record.
Bruce Carlisle, coach of Small Schools champion Whitney, was named boys Southeast team Coach of the Year.
