HOUSTON — The Houston Oilers, in the market for a third quarterback, have given free agent Art Schlichter a tryout.
The Oilers also tried out former USFL and Kansas City Chiefs running back Ken Lacy while Ohio State running back Keith Byars, who gets a cast on his injured right foot removed this week, will be given a physical Sunday.
Schlichter, who has been out of the NFL since the fifth week of last season when he was waived by the Indianapolis Colts, worked out at the Oilers’ training facility Tuesday and later received a physical.
