Slaten Wins Twice as Northridge Sweeps Softball Doubleheader From Bakersfield

All-Americans Kathy Slaten and Barbara Jordan paced the Cal State Northridge softball team to a doubleheader sweep Friday of California Collegiate Athletic Assn. rival Cal State Bakersfield at Bakersfield.
Slaten threw a two-hitter in the first game to lead the Lady Matadors (41-9-1 overall, 13-3 in conference) to a 2-0 win and came on in relief to take the 3-2 victory in the eight-inning second game.
Jordan was 3 for 8 in the doubleheader and scored three runs.
