SPRING HIGHLIGHTS : Alemany Notches 13th Straight, 9-1

Janeen Duncan pitched a one-hitter Wednesday and had 10 strikeouts to lead visiting Alemany High to a 9-1 San Fernando Valley League softball victory at St. Genevieve.
The win was the 13th straight for Alemany (15-2, 10-0). St. Genevieve is 7-3 in league.
Duncan, a junior, walked none to improve her record to 11-2.
Tiffany Riley and Rebecca Stuart each had three hits and a run batted in for the Indian Maidens. Robin Long doubled in another run for Alemany.
High School Softball
Louisville 13, Immaculate Heart 0--Immaculate Heart pitcher Cindy Moore walked 13 Louisville batters and gave up two hits and two RBIs to Beth Bergenty as Louisville won a San Fernando Valley Laegue game.
Louisville pitchers Kristen Heather and reliever Dianna Hetman combined for a two-hitter.
High School Baseball
Westlake 10, Newbury Park 9--Matt Franco’s run-scoring double capped a seven-run rally in the sixth inning for Westlake in a Marmonte League game. Jim Henderson opened the scoring in the sixth with a two-run homer and John Rowedder added a three-run triple. Reliever Steve Zeiss (6-3) earned the win, pitching 2 scoreless innings.
Crespi 3, Notre Dame 2--Three Notre Dame errors in the fifth inning provided the Celts with all their runs. Paul Farkas (4-3) hurled a two-hitter for Crespi. He struck out five and walked nine.
Thousand Oaks 6, Channel Islands 5--Channel Islands led the Marmonte League game, 5-4, going into the bottom of the seventh inning at Thousand Oaks. Thousand Oaks scored one run before Kevin Mederios was driven in on a single by Dave Brant (3 for 5) for the win.
Alex Morte, who was 4 for 4, led Channel Islands.
High School Volleyball
Chatsworth def. Kennedy (15-8, 16-14, 15-10)--Raphael Tulino had 15 kills and Neil Coffman added 12, as the Chancellors ran their West Valley League record to 9-0.
Taft def. El Camino Real (15-6, 15-4, 15-9)--Setter Curtis Hein had 10 kills and middle blocker Ken Lin played a strong defensive game for the Toreadors.
Granada Hills def. Grant (15-3, 13-15, 15-5, 15-11)--The Highlanders (8-0, 12-0 overall) remained in first place in the Mid-Valley League with two matches left.
