A woman was arrested for attempted murder Sunday after shooting her husband in the buttocks during an apparent domestic dispute, police said.
Officers initially responded at 3:12 a.m. to 274 Camelia Lane after neighbors complained of noise. Lt. Cliff McBride said police found George and Patricia Laramee arguing inside but left after the situation appeared to have cooled down.
Police returned to the scene less than an hour later and found George Laramee, 43, wounded in the buttocks. According to the police account, he was apparently trying to leave the house when Patricia, 46, fired at his back, missing the first time. A struggle for the gun ensued and the next round that was fired hit his wallet and then passed through his backside.
Patricia Laramee was booked at the County Jail on attempted murder charges. McBride said George Laramee was taken to Costa Mesa Community Hospital and told police he did not wish to press charges.
