A body found by operators of a fishing boat off Point Reyes was identified by coroner’s officials as that of Jack Favaloro, 53, of San Francisco, the skipper of the fishing trawler Jack Jr., which was struck by a larger ship. Still missing were crewmen Tom McCarthy, San Francisco, and Vince Ingargiola of Corte Madera. The Coast Guard said all three were believed killed instantly last Monday when the Jack Jr. collided with a tanker in thick fog outside the Golden Gate Bridge. Coast Guard investigators said they were focusing their probe on the Delaware-based tanker Golden Gate, which failed to report an urgent radio distress call from the Jack Jr. that it was about to be hit.
