The names of four people who died Sunday in a fiery three-vehicle accident on Angeles Forest Highway near Acton were made public Wednesday by the California Highway Patrol.
Relatives identified the victims as Shaw Sheng, 23, and his father, Wayne Sheng, 56, both of Culver City, and Fernando Fernandez, 55, and his wife, Gloria M. Fernandez, 57, of Lancaster, CHP spokesman Mike Nemback said.
The Shengs were occupants of a late-model car that drifted across the two-lane highway’s center divider, crashing head-on into the Fernandezes pickup truck, Nemback said. The impact caused the truck to slide down an embankment, overturn and explode into flames, the CHP spokesman said.
The Shengs’ car also collided with a second vehicle, causing moderate injuries to a Palmdale couple and their three young children.
