Whose Side Is God On?

So Dr. Charles C. Craddock thinks that perhaps God (or nature) is telling us something about human sexuality through AIDS (Letters, Sept. 14). Pray tell, Dr. Craddock, what do you believe God (or nature) is trying to tell us through the millions starving to death in Africa and India (oh well, they’re expendable); the thousands being killed annually by earthquakes (they should have built stronger buildings); the horrendous drought in the South (we’ll show the Moral Majority who is boss)?
Perhaps we could add war, but this is a toughie: Often, both warring factions claim God is on their side.
