Conejo Valley VFW Post Holds Vigil
The Conejo Valley VFW post began a 48-hour vigil Sunday in the Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park and Mortuary’s Garden of Valor. About 100 community members will take half-hour turns holding a U.S. flag beside the eternal flame at the site of the observance’s opening ceremonies, an area where most of those buried are veterans.
The vigil ends at 11 a.m. Tuesday, when a Veterans Day salute to Vietnam veterans and prisoners of war is to begin.
A candlelight tribute will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the closing ceremonies for the memorial wall’s weeklong display.
