A South Los Angeles man was shot to death during a party in the 1300 block of East 108th Street. Police said Thomas Jefferson Roach, 21, appeared to have been an innocent bystander during a clash between guests at the party and gate-crashers, which ended in gunfire. Roach was pronounced dead at Martin Luther King, Jr.-Drew Medical Center about 20 minutes after he was shot. Detective Verne King of the Los Angeles Police Department’s South Bureau Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums (CRASH) said the violence appeared to be gang-related. He said no arrests have been made, though more than 25 witnesses were interviewed.
