Was she, or wasn’t she?
That’s the puzzle at the root of “Anastasia: The Story of Anna,” a new retelling of the Anastasia riddle to unfold as a two-part, four-hour drama Sunday and Monday on NBC (9-11 both nights on Channels 4, 36, 39).
Amy Irving (pictured on cover) stars as Anna Anderson, the young woman who in the 1920s said she survived revolutionaries’ bullets and wants to claim the title of Grand Duchess of Russia.
Rex Harrison, Olivia de Havilland, Omar Sharif, Jan Niklas, Claire Bloom, Edward Fox, Elke Sommer and Susan Lucci are others in the cast, left to determine if Anna is real, or an imposter.
