Edison and SDG&E; want a hearing on San Onofre.

Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas & Electric have asked state regulators to reconsider portions of an October decision to make utility shareholders absorb $344.6 million in construction cost overruns at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. The utilities asked the state Public Utilities Commission to make rate payers--and not shareholders--responsible for $284.4 million of the disputed $344.6 million in cost overruns at San Onofre Units 2 and 3.
