OCEANSIDE — An 83-year-old Oceanside woman suffered a broken wrist after she was knocked to the ground by a purse snatcher as she walked home from a shopping trip Thursday afternoon, police said.
According to witnesses, Leona Greenalch was near her home in the 200 block of North El Camino Real when a man in his early 20s, wearing a dark hat pulled down over his eyes and dark pants and jacket, ran out of an early 1960s maroon Ford Mustang, grabbed her purse and raced away in the car, police said.
No arrests have been made.
