New Visitors Center for Mt. St. Helens to Open

SILVER LAKE, Wash. — A new $5.3-million visitors center for the Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument opens its doors today, U.S. Forest Service officials said. The center, located 34 miles east of the volcano, includes a 25-foot-wide working model of the volcano.
