Twenty-year-old Andrei Chesnokov of the Soviet Union upset Boris Becker, the world’s No. 2-ranked player, 2-6, 6-4, 7-5, Friday in the $150,000 Young Masters tennis tournament at Stuttgart, West Germany.

“I wanted to play well, to concentrate and win completely, but it simply didn’t work today. I’ve lost my senses,” said the 19-year-old West German, who entered the tournament as the clear favorite.

Despite the loss, Becker qualified for the semifinals today.

The tournament is limited to players under 21 years old.

At London, Frenchmen Yannick Noah and Guy Forget swept into the semifinals of the $255,000 Masters Doubles championship, trouncing Emilio Sanchez and Sergio Casal of Spain, 6-2, 6-2, 7-6.

“That was by far the best we have ever played as a team,” Noah said.

The Frenchmen finished the round-robin section of the tournament as the only pair with an unblemished 3-0 record.

Their victory assured Gary Donnelly and Mike DePalmer a place in the semifinals. Donnelly and DePalmer beat Sweden’s Mats Wilander and Joakim Nystrom, 3-6, 7-5, 6-1, 6-4. As a result, the Wimbledon champions and U.S. Open runners-up ended round-robin play with a surprising 0-3 record.
