Belmont Is Favored in City Meet Today

Belmont High School is favored to win its fifth straight City boys’ cross-country title today at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, beginning at 10 a.m.
The Sentinels should get their stiffest test from Van Nuys, Birmingham and Granada Hills. Junior Ian Alsen of Granada Hills is the individual favorite.
Wilson, led by Sandra Rodriguez, is a solid choice to win the girls’ team title.
The Kinney national high school cross-country championships for both boys and girls are scheduled today at Balboa Park in San Diego, also at 10 a.m.
