BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS : Fourth-Quarter Blues Hamper Crespi Again
- Share via
Crespi High committed eight turnovers in the fourth quarter to squander a six-point fourth-quarter lead and the game, 47-40, to Compton in a consolation game of the Tournament of Champions on Wednesday at Cal Poly Pomona.
For the Celts, it was another in a series of poor fourth quarters. Crespi was outscored 20-7 in the final period, turning a 33-27 advantage into its fifth loss in six games. Crespi, which has no one returning from last season’s team, lost only five games last season.
“Our inexperience was the difference in the fourth quarter,” Coach Paul Muff said, “We’ve had problems in that period all season.”
