Fines totaling more than $18,000 were handed down by the National Hockey League to the Philadelphia Flyers and the New Jersey Devils as a result of a post-game melee Jan. 24.
Each team was fined $4,000, and each of the total of 40 players from both clubs who were on the ice were fined $200, Brian O’Neill, the NHL’s executive vice president, said in a statement.
