SAN DIEGO — San Diego State’s victory-starved basketball team will play the Air Force Academy in a Western Athletic Conference game at 7:30 tonight in the Sports Arena.
The Aztecs, who have lost a school-record 13 consecutive games, are 0-9 in conference and 2-19 overall.
SDSU lost to Colorado State, 64-62, Thursday when Darryl Gaines missed a 25-foot shot at the buzzer. The Aztecs went scoreless for more than seven minutes in the second half.
Coach Smokey Gaines, who resigned Friday, said after the Colorado State loss, “We don’t have a leader right now. . . . I wish we could find a Magic (Johnson).”
Air Force is 4-5 in the conference and 11-8 overall.
