An arson fire that began in an office and spread to two more offices caused about $250,000 damage at the Carson City Hall, authorities said. A security guard spotted smoke coming from the building at 701 E. Carson St. and flagged down a deputy from the sheriff’s station across the street, Sgt. John Domen said. Nine companies of Los Angeles County firefighters controlled the fire in about 20 minutes, Firefighter Clark Pearson said. Damage to the building was estimated at $100,000 with another $150,000 damage to the contents, Pearson said, and smoke damage was reported throughout the west wing. Arson investigators said they found evidence that the fire was intentionally set.
