Ted Turner expects to turn a profit on politics next year, when the Democrats come to his home city of Atlanta. Turner Broadcasting System Inc. operates Atlanta’s Omni Coliseum and other office buildings nearby and plans to earn more than $1 million for renting its facilities for the National Democratic Convention July 18-21, 1988, Turner Broadcasting Vice President Jim Kitchell said. But running the only circus in town won’t guarantee Turner the best seat in town. The Democrats, not Turner, pick the locations for network booths.
