Raines Only Has About Five Great Years Left
- Share via
I believe Al Campanis and Peter O’Malley when they insist that there is no collusion involved in the Dodgers’ failure to sign Tim Raines. They claim they already have a center fielder in Ken Landreaux and that signing Raines wouldn’t make financial sense. They are absolutely correct.
Landreaux hasn’t had to get his uniform dry cleaned in five years, while Raines’ is virtually in tatters after every game. Have you had a suit cleaned lately? We’re talking $5 to $6 a throw here easy! Multiplied over 162 games--well, you see their point.
Spend the money, guys. Raines is worth it and since I’m now paying a dollar a seat more for Dodger games, we can all meet at the cleaners.
